Founder of Emergent BioSolutions in Rockville, Maryland, Fuad El-Hibri serves as executive chairman of the company’s board of directors. Fuad El-Hibri’s success as an entrepreneur has earned him personal and corporate awards, including the International Leadership Award from the World Trade Center Institute (WTCI).
Established more than two decades ago, the International Leadership Award honors company executives with a history of international business success through determination and creative strategy. Recipients represent Maryland’s diverse industries, culture, and geography. The WTCI selects five to seven winners from a pool of 20 to 25 candidates each year.
Candidates eligible for the award include business leaders with at least three years of experience in their current position and a proven record of international business growth over that time. Their company also must be no less than three years old at the time of nomination, and candidates must reflect a history of actively supporting their local communities.
